Snow sure Tignes enjoys all the skiing attributes of Val d'Isère, as they combine to make up the huge L'Espace Killy.

The huge size of the skiing and snowboarding resort can been seen on the latest Tignes piste map. Tignes is widely regarded as one of the best ski resorts in the world which is why people come back time and time again. Tignes hosts the Freeride world tour, Winter X Games Europe, and can be seen featured in numerous Skiing and snow boarding movies. There are no better endorsements than that!

For first timers, or those who want to improve on their Skiing or Snow boarding technique, Tignes has numerous Ski schools with English speaking instructors throughout the resort. In fact despite Tignes being a French resort the high popularity with foriegn visitors means that English is widely used throughout Tignes, although as with all travelling a little knowledge of the local language helps you to really get the most out of your holiday.

The 300km of marked pistes and 81 lifts cover all abilities and provide greatly varied mountain terrain. Advanced skiers and snow boarders are well served, with great off-piste (a guide is an absolute must). For on piste experts there is "Sache" a very steep Black or there is also the Olympic downhill Black "Face" in Val d'Isère.

Because of its high altitude, Tignes makes for an excellent early or late season venue. It is one of only two "snow sure" French resorts according to the "Good skiing and snowboarding" guide. The whole area is serviced very well by an efficient lift system and the five 'satellites' that make up the resort are all linked by free bus.

Tignes resort is a true year round resort where on holiday you can ski (alpine or nordic), snowboard, or take part in numerous other winter sports activities. During the summer there is mountain biking / MTB, golf, hiking, walking, paragliding and even summer skiing on the Grande Motte glacier. Tignes hosts the only winter X games in Europe where the best freestyle skiers and snowboarders in the world compete on the slopestyle course or in the huge pipe which is just a few minutes walk away in Tignes Val Claret.
